After the Harvest is celebrating nine years, and taking an opportunity to reflect on the incredible progress we’ve made together along the way.
ATH was honored to have been featured in a recent article by the Agricultural Business Council of Kansas City. The article, “Digging Deeper” highlights our mission to reduce food waste and fight hunger in our community. We’re grateful for this recognition and proud to be working toward a more sustainable and equitable food system.
After the Harvest’s Strawberry Day 2023 was a resounding success! Thanks to the generous donation of 3 pallets of fresh strawberries from Driscoll’s Berries, a total of 2,880 pounds of the sweet and juicy fruit were distributed to 31 different agencies across 25 different zip codes in the 5 county area (Jackson, Clay, Platte, Johnson, and Wyandotte). Despite the event being postponed for a month due to mudslides and flooding in California, our dedicated staff, volunteers, and agency partners worked tirelessly to make sure these berries got into the hands of those who need them most.
We’ve been plowing away at this idea for quite some time now, and we’re excited to finally share the fruits of our labor with you. We’ve been busy planting seeds of collaboration and nurturing our partnerships, all in the hopes of cultivating a stronger, more connected community.
