ATH finds shared value in new partnership with National Agricultural Center & Hall of Fame

When After the Harvest brought forward the idea for an Amaizing Sweet Corn Glean-A-Thon, the National Agricultural Center and Hall of Fame wanted not only to partner with us, but to introduce a new component of the event: the sweet corn festival. 

The National Agricultural Center and Hall of Fame was chartered by Congress in 1960 with the mission to educate on the historical and present value of American agriculture, to promote agricultural awareness, and to recognize those who have uniquely contributed to agriculture.

On Saturday, July 30, our idea came to fruition as roughly a thousand people turned up at our Amaizing Sweet Corn Festival, hosted at the National Agricultural Center and Hall of Fame in Bonner Springs, Kan. The organization’s shared values made a partnership with After the Harvest a natural fit.

“This was a great opportunity to partner with After the Harvest and help raise awareness about food insecurity, as well as the importance of agriculture in our everyday lives,” said Dave Hurrelbrink, president of the Ag Hall’s Board of Directors.

Since its inception, the National Agricultural Center and Hall of Fame has inducted 44 people for their contributions to the agricultural industry. The organization plays an important role in educating children and adults about agricultural history through living history demonstrations and displays, various events, and numerous educational programs and tours tailored for specific groups.
