As the fall season settles in and the gleaning season winds down, ATH continues its unwavering commitment to rescuing fresh produce and combating food waste. Year to date, our team has exceeded an incredible milestone, rescuing over 950,000 pounds of fresh produce. We’re on track to surpass 1 million pounds by November, marking a remarkable achievement in our ongoing mission.

On a crisp October afternoon, After the Harvest received a special invitation from the KC Farm School at Gibbs Road. With excitement and curiosity, ATH staff members, including Autumn MorningSky, Clay Jarratt, and Jane Fletcher, gathered to attend a captivating presentation by Eagle Bear, a native Apache nation member hailing from Colorado and the leader of the Southwest Dancers.
To all participants and supporters of the Amaizing Sweet Corn Glean-a-Thon and Sweet Corn Festival, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to you for your unwavering dedication and enthusiasm that made this year’s event a resounding success. The After the Harvest team is immensely thankful for your continued support.
If you’d like to help with food rescue operations, you can volunteer to participate in gleaning. This involves going out to farms, orchards, and other sites where fresh food is grown and harvesting it to be distributed to those in need. This helps to ensure that food that would otherwise go to waste is put to good use.
