Friday, Oct. 14, 9 a.m.-noon–Gleaning apples near Smithville, MO A generous homeowner has apple trees to glean so join us in this rescue if you can spare some time. Located just south of Smithville Lake, 25 min. from North KC.

…Or, check out more weekday dates–9 a.m. gleanings on Oct. 25 and Nov. 1 and 3. We don’t yet know what will be ready to harvest on which farm within 30-45 minutes of KC. We’ll let you know via e-mail before your gleaning.

We raise the root in salute to our volunteers this season
From Sandy Vivian, ATH Outreach and Communications Director: As the growing season winds down, After the Harvest is still “raising the root” in support of gleaning and the efforts of our extraordinary volunteers who rescued thousands of pounds of produce and delivered it to hungry families in our area. Even Kansas City Mayor Sly James got into the act at a recent ATH visit to City Hall!

Don’t get us wrong…we’re still gleaning and will be even through substantial upcoming….see more photos and read more.
