Do you think it’s wrong that fresh, nutritious fruits and vegetables go to waste every day when our neighbors go hungry? Help After the Harvest do something about it!

Join us as we try to reach our goal this holiday season of raising $15,000 to pay packaging, handling and sourcing for three truckloads or over 126,000 lbs. of donated produce that might otherwise end up in landfills.

Give and spread the word
Would you support ATH by giving on Giving Tuesday—Nov. 28—or anytime throughout the holiday season to Buck$ for Trucks? Then would you help spread the word by sharing the message with others? See the sample e-mail messages and Facebook and Twitter posts below.

Subject:  Here’s something you can do about waste and hunger

Hi __________,

Happy holidays! I am sending this note along today to let you know that I’m a supporter of After the Harvest, a Kansas City nonprofit that rescues nutritious fruits and vegetables from going to waste and donates them to feed our hungry neighbors.

Their volunteers glean after the harvest, picking what’s left in farmers’ fields and picking up already harvested leftover produce. The majority of the funds they raise helps secure semi-truckloads of donated produce that might otherwise end up in landfills.

After the Harvest, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is the largest produce donor to Harvesters—The Community Food Network.

I’m fundraising to help bring in $15,000 to pay packaging, handling and sourcing for three truckloads or over 126,000 lbs. of donated produce to feed our hungry neighbors nutritious, healthy food. If you can, would you help by giving to *Buck$ for Trucks on Giving Tuesday—Nov. 28—or anytime throughout the holiday season?

Anything you can give will help! Share this message with like-minded friends and family if you can.

Thanks so much,
Joe
